Your privacy matters to us. CoCo8 is designed to protect your personal data while providing a safe dating experience.
1. Who We Are
CoCo8 is operated by Swissapp Group, based in Switzerland. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can reach us at privacy@coco8.ch.
2. Data We Collect

3. How We Use Your Data
- Providing the service: Matching you with other users, enabling messaging and calls
- Safety and moderation: Detecting inappropriate content, verifying identity, preventing fraud
- Improving the service: Analyzing usage patterns to improve features
- Communications: Sending push notifications about matches, messages, and calls
4. Data Processing and Storage
- All data is processed and stored on servers located in Europe
- Face verification is performed entirely on our servers using in-process AI models — no data is sent to third-party AI services
- Photos flagged by content moderation are immediately deleted and never stored
- Face verification selfies submitted for manual review are deleted after the review decision
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following cases:
- Other users: Your profile information (name, photos, bio, preferences) is visible to other users as part of the dating service
- Service providers: Twilio (voice/video calls, SMS verification), Firebase (push notifications)
- Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect the safety of our users, including reporting child exploitation material to authorities
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR and Swiss data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Object to processing of your data

7. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active
- When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Chat messages are deleted when either user unmatches or deletes their account
- Face verification data (embeddings) is deleted when verification is reset or account is deleted
8. Security
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS
- Passwords are hashed and salted
- Authentication tokens expire after 24 hours
- Admin access requires system-level user privileges
- Content moderation AI runs in-process — your photos never leave our servers for analysis
9. Children's Privacy
CoCo8 is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover that a user is under 18, their account will be immediately terminated. See our Child Safety Standards for more details.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. The latest version is always available at this URL.
